The nightmare begins when you have sponsored someone and the greatest challenge is to be able to serve that person. 3 out of 4 network marketing business opportunities are functioning via monthly member fees to generate "residual income".

What happens then if that member you sponsored just decided to jump ship? Not a good sign for your income stream.

Top Myth #4: Your Automated Website And Blah, Blah, Blah

It's quite amusing really. Whenever you see some potential program out there giving you an automated website and system there is definitely something that's missing. It is the element of work. Not that I'm against working less and earning more.

The thing that really ticks me off is the promise that is fed to you about how a website and a system can be duplicated. Just remind yourself this, "A system can be duplicated, people can not". You still need to work the system.

Top Myth #3: You Do Not Need Experience To Start

This is one of my favourites. Here's the hard truth. Are you ready? 97% of all network marketing business opportunities feed on new recruits. While someone without experience can join in too. You usually need to learn how to expand your network (hence, the name network marketing) in order to grow your team.

The upper hand always belongs to the veterans because they know what to do and where to get people to join his team. I'll get back to you about this near the end for a solution. Stay with me.

Top Myth #2: Build Relationship, Not A Business

Okay, this one is partially true. While I build relationship with my subscribers the key is to think of your business like a business! Honestly, you'd be better off earning quick profits rather than feeding a bunch of adult babies whining about their lives.

Business is key to your financial well-being and your closest relationships should be spent with your family, not on counselling your team members. They joined the opportunity out of hope, not you. Be a business person.

Top Myth #1: Never Give Up, Motivate Yourself

Do you really think you can motivate yourself? The truth is, it is not easy. Especially when you look in the mirror and knowing that you cannot put food on the table later during lunch for your family. Or that nice vacation you've been dreaming about goes out the window.

Reality check, you do need some immediate cash to support yourself. Not drowning in financial debts while holding on to those hot network marketing business opportunities out there. Results are bottom line and you have to realize this.

In closing, let me drive home that while network marketing business opportunities are using the Internet now their compensation structure is still quite the same. You're better off making instant up front profits rather than waiting for your team volume to grow. After all, it is the reason why you are reading this, right? Think about it.

Almost anyone who gets involved in a network marketing business starts out with the promise of a huge cash flow, with little or no effort on their part. They are told that all they have to do is "get 3, who get 3" and so on. After exhausting and annoying their list of 100 friends and family, they are being told to keep calling leads and booking appointments and parties. Know the terms and policies of your company, and understand fully it's compensation plan. You MUST be able to answer your prospect's questions. Once you position yourself as an expert, they are many times more likely to purchase from you, AND pay just about any price that you may ask!

Invest in your training. Learning the art and science of network marketing is not what you will get from your upline. You might have heard of "Network Marketing" as a get rich quick scheme. I am here to tell you that that is just not true. As a matter of fact, it is so far from the truth, that that phrase is quite comical to me. Well, on the one hand it is comical to me, and on the other hand it's upsetting. "Network Marketing" requires a lot of hard work. You will hear me say frequently that this business is simple, even fun, and frequently exciting, but it is not easy.

Have you ever heard the statement, If it sounds too good to be true, it probably is? Well, take caution to what you hear and say as you build your "Network Marketing" dynasty. To tell anyone that this is easy, is utterly untrue ! To say to people that they need to only bring in a certain amount of distributors and then sit back and collect is also utterly untrue. Network Marketing is a legitimate business work program. Network Marketing does offer unlimited income and time freedom after you've built a large organization, and it certainly can be tempting to sugar-coat the process to get people to get involved, but such practices are a set up for disappointment and in the end, they don't help anyone. So network marketing is far from a means to "get rich quick", but the great news is your rewards will increase over time and your efforts don't necessarily have to increase with it. Good network marketing companies are designed to reward significantly and increasingly over time with lesser effort, as your network picks up momentum (and the duplication or compounding effort of your downline takes off.)

The Get Rich Quick Delusion is the Problem

The promise of a fast and easy fortune does appeal to people in this world of fast food, drive up service, one-hour dry cleaning, and getting everything one wants immediately by putting it on a credit card. We are bombarded with advertising that says we can (and should) have it now. “Drive it home today, no interest for 12 months, and sleep in your new bedroom set tonight. But, this idea of earning $10,000 an hour without having to lift a finger is enticing, but it's just not true and propagating this fallacy only adds to the negative image that this industry has had in the past. We need to work together to invite people into these great opportunities on solid ground, so that our organizations do not quickly degrade into a rope of sand.

Network Marketing is work. It is a real business. I often refer to it as being similar to owning a franchise, but without all the headaches. If you attend to this like big business, it will treat you back like big business, but if you consider it as a side venture, it will only pay you accordingly. Of course, there are a myriad of reasons people have when pursuing this industry. Some want to come in to build an organization which will help them to achieve goals that are beyond their wildest imaginations. And, they can do that, if they take strategically implemented, and persistent action toward the attainment of their written goals. They must also be mentored by those with the experiential know how.

Others come into the industry to supplement their income by a few hundred to thousands of dollars per month. They may even see this as an opportunity to start a business part-time around their current business in the hopes that they may eventually be able to replace their current income, which is also a worthy goal. Generally speaking though, a person gets back according to what they put in, but part-timers must also be persistent and consistent in the attainment of their written goals, even if it is done on a part-time basis.

So, who gets involved with Network Marketing? People from all walks of life! For example, executives from major corporations see Network Marketing as a ticket to freedom. This is a great opportunity to earn the same type of income they are used to, and more! There is also the freedom to do it alongside their current schedules and career! Once the income passes and/or exceeds their current income, they can then go forward full-time in their Network Marketing endeavor.

Network Marketing attracts people from all walks of life- everyone from CEO to Indian Chiefs! Age (some companies require a legal guardian), color, gender, business background, educational background, just doesn't matter! Geographical boundaries only apply according where a company is currently open for business. But, once involved and building in this industry, you are free to transact business in every country where the company is open.

get rich quick, get rich fast, get rich quick scheme Let us consider this simple scenario: You live in Florida and sponsor someone in New York, who sponsors someone in Canada, who sponsors someone in Texas, who sponsors someone in Singapore, who sponsors someone in Taiwan, who sponsors someone in California, who sponsors someone in Australia, who sponsors someone in Alabama and viola, you have business in all those locations!

Everyone of these individuals got into this business because they saw it as a viable opportunity for themselves and their family, and they are building their businesses to achieve their goals and dreams in life. Instead of putting a fortune into advertising, a Network Marketing organization focuses on 1. the production of high quality products and/or services and 2. into paying their highly valued distribution force for spreading the word. I think J. Paul Getty, one of America's first billionaires, said it best, "I would rather have 1% of the efforts of 100 men than 100% of my own efforts." That is a great description of Network Marketing.

Network marketing is one of the methods of marketing products and services. The organization marketing the products creates a network of individual entrepreneurs who assist the organization in securing orders for the product. The individual marketers in the network get commission for business conducted through their efforts. The enterprising network marketers grow their own marketing network and, depending upon the compensation scheme of the organization, the network marketers also get paid for the efforts of their team mates.

Though network marketing is an old concept it has got a real boost by the development of internet. Spreading information is one of the key elements of network marketing and internet provides just the medium to spread the message at staggering speed. For millions of individuals involved in network marketing it signifies a complete business. Most of them are looking for additional source of income. They are lured by the ease with which they can join network marketing and by the expectation of making some quick money.

But what happens? Most of the people are not able to earn from network marketing. Many of them get disgusted and either leave or become inactive. According to one study there is better chance of making profit in games of chance such as gambling than in network marketing by an average person. A person who is not serious about his network marketing business would stand a better chance to earn some profit in a gambling den than in the network marketing. The same study concludes that the top few involved in network marketing earn tremendous amount of wealth at the cost of thousands of network marketers who do not earn any profits.

While I do not question the authenticity of this study, I do feel that this is a wrong way of interpreting facts. When we send our children to school we do not say that the owners of the school are earning at the cost of the students. Even those who realize this fact still send their children to school.

Network marketing provides opportunity not only for earning but also for learning. Most of the people are drawn towards network marketing by unreasonable expectations. They are led to believe that they can earn without much efforts on their part. Those who try to learn go much further than those who don't. The network marketer has to go through the learning process to find out how he or she can succeed in earning money.

Success is something which cannot be imposed. It has to be earned. Being successful is a habit and like every other habit it can be cultivated. Success is not a single event – it is a winning mindset. Network marketing is one of the best places where you can find the opportunity to develop a winning mindset. But only those who are willing to learn can hope to benefit from this opportunity.

All the good organizations involved in network marketing provide plenty of support to its sales force. They provide learning opportunity, promotional material, and even mentoring. It is up to the individual network marketers to learn and develop himself or herself. It is not correct to compare network marketing with a game of chance. The internet marketers who are the players in this game have a clear choice – those who learn will succeed.

One of the key elements of network marketing is the leverage. All successful network marketers use this technique to increase their effectiveness several folds. Leveraging means getting others to work for you. Now, why will others work for you. They will work only if they stand to gain for their efforts. Therefore it is in the interest of the team leader to see that his team members also learn to earn. Network marketing is really a team effort.

Network marketing provides tremendous opportunity for learning, earning and making new friends. For those who take initiative, success is just round the corner.

Representatives in the network marketing business face challenges every day. Lots of people fear network marketing because of difficulties like these:

-    The fear of rejection:

The fear of rejection is a valid fear, but it is also the most defeating fear. This fear keeps people from achieving their dreams or reaching their true potential. It is so devastating that some don’t even get started in this business! Even if someone has the dream of achieving freedom from their job, they refuse to join the network marketing opportunity because their dreams are stifled by the word, “NO”. A lot of network marketing representatives also lack self-confidence. They are not clear about what their motivation is when they approach others about their network marketing opportunity. That is why they fail to succeed.

-    The fear of losing friends:

Network marketing businesses teach representatives how to work with their warm market. But it is the fear of losing friends that keeps network marketing representatives holding back. It’s a very common tendency to get a guilty complex. But we are supposed to share good things with our friends, such as a good movie or a great restaurant. We already do this naturally because there are no strings attached. However, when you throw in an incentive or return, the dynamics change. People who try to ‘sell’ to their friends do it in the wrong way. You must have a very clear understanding when you share with your friends about your network marketing business. Do you truly want to help your friends out with your successful business or your excellent product, or are you just using them for profit?

-    Scams in network marketing:

Sometimes, it is hard to point out a network marketing scam. Some of the products and services out there seem like wonderful ideas at the moment. But in a couple of years, things have changed. You have to be very careful when it comes to figuring out which are scams. Check out the background of those in the management team. Figure out whether entry level representative positions will help you create a return on your investment. Don’t be scammed into front-loading product. Make sure your uplines are in it for the long haul. Are they going to help you succeed, or are they going to use you for their own profit?

-    Inability to create new representatives:

Some representatives in network marketing are great at building their own network. But there’s one issue: they don’t’ create representatives that are just like themselves. Network marketing is a system for an entire network, not just one representative. Everyone works as a team towards a common goal.  But not all the people in your down line have the same strong motivation, charisma, and experience. You have to invest the time to teach your down line how to succeed in your network marketing business. If you don’t, you’re going to lose your representatives after months of investment, and have to start to build your team again.

Are they driven by money? By fame? Or is there something more?

Most people who join network marketing because they have a dream. They want more than what they have right now. (1) The need for more income: In America, we are in the midst of a recession. (2) The need for leisure time: Some very wealthy people have sacrificed all of their time to make money. (3) The need for ownership and job security: Even though some people have extra time and enough money, they don’t feel content. That is because they work for a boss, and they don’t actually own their own company. Therefore, they are not really in control of their own lives! Similarly, job security is non-existent today. A lot of people would rather just build their own wealth, instead of relying upon someone else to give it to them. That is much stronger than job security, and that is why people choose network marketing.

(4) The need for excellent products: A lot of network marketing companies sell the products that the customer needs. It makes financial sense to become a representative, or a distributor, for the company. Most successful businessmen and women are in network marketing because they started out purchasing some health supplements or they wanted to purchase a skin care product from their friend in network marketing.

(5) Socializing and assisting others: Network marketing brings you time, money, products and ownership. However, it also provides a great place for people to connect and to assist others in achieving their dreams. Your strongest, most lasting relationships will be created from your family and friends in your network marketing team.

You need to have one or more great reasons for why you are in network marketing. Can you make a list of your reasons?

Once you can list it down, you will be able to build your network marketing business with passion and determination.

Something you should know before I tell you what I think is the solid network marketing system. Network Marketing is rigid. Be honest and do not fool yourself and most of all do not try network marketing unless you have a good plan into place with a potent and very duplicable network marketing system.

This is one reason why network marketing is notorious for having a 95% failure rate. Why, you are asking.

Here are some of the reasons of why such a large percent fail.

Marketing methods that are taught do not work 95% of the time. Old school and experience has taught me that marketers are to purchase and cold call leads. You will learn that after hours and hours and money thrown out the window it had very little success. However, some network marketers are in their comfort zone and doing very well with cold calling. Good for them. The ones that have lost countless hours and thousands of dollars give up.

Speaking of leads, most are generic. The failure in this is the type of leads you use comes from an ad wanting prospects who what to be financially free or just make money from home, very general or generic.  Since the generic leads most of the time does not have anything to do with YOUR business you will get a lot on “NOs” another reason to give up and add to the 95% of failure rate. This with failure is very negative and the network marketer is giving up again with no self-assurance and no new prospects.

So how do we change this pattern? We build a solid Network Marketing System! For the typical home based network marketer to be victorious and financially free a positive mania MUST be in place. Through the years of being taught and learning on my experience, I have found the information below will be an aide to all network marketers.

Lead Capture Page: Must be intended exclusively for your specific Network Marketing Company. This Page must contain STRONG sales copy that lets the prospect know why s/he wants to opt in for additional information. Offer a High Value Free Report in exchange for their contact info. The free report must be extremely helpful. It must give details of all the features and benefits of joining the network marketing organization as an independent distributor and must focus on the support and resources available to the new prospect should they decide to purchase a distributorship. The business's goods and reimbursement plan must be without a doubt explained. Finally on the Lead Capture page testimonials should be included testimonials are very powerful sales and conversion tools.

Follow up Email System: A system that continually markets through emails. I will tell you that most leads do not act immediately and must be marketed to at the minimum of seven times before they will give a response yes or no. This email follow-up system must have strong sales copy. Make sure this system can get through the spam systems out there.

A Repetitive Response System: This feedback system that will let you know the new prospect has opt into the system via email and bring into play the worry of losing by telling the prospect that if the next prospect in line advances to a paid position before s/he does then s/he will loose commission on that prospect.

Strong Supportive Training: Just because a prospect has opted in, as a distributor does not mean that s/he will succeed. There must be an email follow-up system to ensure that s/he receives more that adequate training and support on how to market successfully. Now is when you come into play. There must be a STRONG relationship built between the up line and the new prospect.

How Good Is the Product or Service:  To ensure that the entire marketing method works the system must be supported by a strong and honorable network marketing association that sells a superior needed product that people would even purchase with or without a compensation plan.

It Is Your Turn: Work and lead with your heart. You must have a passion for your business and really believe in the product that you are promoting. Be an active part of your business. You must be helpful, willing and open to learn new ideas and tactics at all times.

In the end: Now ask yourself if you are using a solid network marketing system. Are those hours and dollars that you are spending making you money?

Power Secret One: Select the Right Company

 

During my nearly 29 years of network marketing, I’ve selected the wrong company a number of times. Not that the company was bad, although there were a few that were, but rather they weren’t a good fit for me. Even if a company is growing rapidly, has an amazing product, solid compensation plan, and great marketing materials, it doesn’t mean that it’s right for everyone. The questions you have to ask are: Does the company have the same values as mine? Are they marketing in a way that is suitable to my personality? Do they offer a product or service that I can get passionate about? Is the compensation plan suited to my abilities, time commitment, and talents? Once you answer these and other questions, you will have a better feel for whether a company is right for you and although selecting the right company doesn’t guarantee success, it does drastically increase the odds. The key is to do your due diligence and make a good selection.

 

Power Secret Two: Pick the Right Sponsor

 

One of the biggest mistakes I see made in network marketing is picking the wrong sponsor. Typically one of two things happens. Either a person gets sponsored by a friend, family member, or associate, who doesn’t know anything more about building a successful network marketing business than they do. The second option usually happens after a bad experience with the first option and so they begin researching to find a big hitter to sponsor them. The problem with being sponsored by a big hitter is that they don’t always have time to work closely with new people. After all they probably have thousands of people in their network, all needing some level of attention. The key here is to be sponsored by someone who is serious about building a big business and is willing to dedicate the time to help you succeed. It’s also important that your sponsor have similar values and be someone you would enjoy working with very closely. Again, picking the right sponsor doesn’t guarantee success, but it sure helps.

 

Power Secret Three: Develop Purpose, Goals, and Objectives

 

Over the years I’ve trained and coached tens of thousands of network marketers and have found that most don’t really know why they are in business. It’s critical to long-term success to have a solid “why” or purpose for being in business. It might be to have more time freedom to enjoy your family or to secure your financial future, so you can give your time to ministry or charity work. It might be to become the largest contributor to a charity or ministry. Whatever your purpose, it needs to be vibrant enough to keep you going during the tough times. Once you have a solid purpose, then you must determine what needs to happen in order to achieve that purpose – these are called goals and are the stepping stones or road signs along the way toward your purpose. Goals need to be written and reviewed daily. Often goals are too big to determine what to do on a daily basis, so you should break them down into manageable activities called objectives. Start each day by reviewing your purpose, goals, and objectives, then start working on the highest priority objectives and you will quickly reach your goals and achieve your purpose.

 

Power Secret Four: Right Attitudes and Beliefs

 

Many people fail in network marketing because they don’t have the right attitude. They treat their business like a hobby, working at it whenever time allows, rather than treating it like a business and scheduling regular time for business activities. I’ve also encountered many people in network marketing businesses, who show signs that they believe that what they are doing isn’t quite on the up and up, which makes it difficult for them to talk with people. Second, is believing in your company and the products/services. Third, is believing in yourself as a network marketing business owner. If your belief is not strong in all three areas, success will elude you.

 

Power Secret Five: Treat it Like a Business, Not a Hobby

 

What does this mean? Most people who enter the network marketing industry have never run a business, so they don’t know what it means to treat it like a business. The keys are to first have the right attitude and second the right actions. Network marketing is one of the very few businesses that can be built while still employed at something else. The great part is that you keep your current income, while building another stream, which eventually will replace the first source. However, in order to do that, you must do the things that successful business people do. You must be consistent and persistent with your business and work on the most productive activities every day. Finally, you need to make a long-term commitment to your business. I have to laugh when someone says they’ll give it a try for six months or so. I’ve owned businesses, both network marketing and traditional, for many years and I’ve yet to find one that would produce a full-time income within six months, while building it on a part-time basis. Yes, some people earn big time income in network marketing within their first six months, but it’s because they put in a more than full-time effort or already had a massive circle of influence. For the average person, like me and probably you, it’s going to take some time and effort to build your business, but if you do it right for the next few years, you’ll never have to worry about money again.

 

Power Secret Six: Have a M.A.P.

 

If you were going to drive your car from Seattle, WA to Orlando, FL, would you just jump on the nearest highway and start driving, in hopes that some day soon you’d reach Orlando? No, that would be ludicrous and yet, that’s how most people build a network marketing business. It’s a journey and you need a M.A.P., which stands for Marketing Action Plan. This plan will guide you from where you are right now to where you want to go in life. It should include your purpose, goals, objectives, marketing strategies, and a daily plan to implement those strategies. That way, you are always on track toward your goals and purpose.

 

Power Secret Seven: Become a Master Prospector

 

If you were wandering through a field and stumbled across a goldmine, you would immediately buy the lot, purchase digging equipment, and begin to mine the gold. Well, you have stumbled across a goldmine and it’s in your network marketing business. The key is to prospect for the gold nuggets among your friends, family, co-workers, neighbors, congregation members, people out on the internet, and people you meet out in public. There is a direct relationship between the quantity/quality of prospecting and the amount of money you make, so become a master prospector and watch your income sky rocket.

 

Power Secret Eight: Treat Different People Differently

 

If you are treating everyone exactly the same, then you’re missing the boat with 75% of them. There are four basic personalities and although we operate at times in all four, every person functions primarily in one of the four. By understanding the characteristics of each personality, you can better communicate and present to prospects, plus train and support those in your network. Understanding and recognizing the different personalities will increase your sponsoring and retention ratios.

 

Power Secret Nine: Become a Master Presenter

 

There is an old saying that says “facts tell and stories sell.” If you want to become a successful network marketer, you must become an excellent story teller. At first, you will tell the stories of successful people in your upline and later you’ll share your own success story. People love to hear stories and will better retain the information you’re presenting. Effective story telling is one part of becoming a master presenter and by becoming one, you will move yourself into the ranks of the top performers in your company.

 

Power Secret Ten: Become a Savvy Internet Marketer

 

The basis of network marketing is building networks of people who buy and sell products/services. What better place to build a network of people than on a natural worldwide network called the internet? According to Internet World Stats, which you can view at www.internetworldstats.com/stats.htm, as of 2006 there were a little over one billion people on the internet worldwide and that’s up from 101 million in 1998. As you can see, the internet is growing rapidly and is the place to build a network marketing business. However, it’s easy to get lost or overwhelmed on and by the internet, so the key is to learn how to be a savvy internet network marketer. First, you want to have an effective lead capturing web site with autoresponders that follow-up on your prospects. Second, you’ll need an effective database or contact management system that helps you remember to follow-up personally with qualified prospects. Third, you want to have an excellent online presentation system including web site based presentations in flash or video and live webinars. Fourth, you’ll need to have a pass-coded training web site that takes your new associates through some basic training. Power Secret Eleven: Develop Leaders

 

When I joined the industry in 1979, I was taught that if a person could fog a mirror I should attempt to sponsor them. Well, it’s one thing to sponsor a bunch of people and it’s something completely different to develop leaders. Leaders will duplicate, causing expansion of your network without any effort on your part. Leaders will attract other leaders and potential leaders, so learn how to identify and sponsor leaders, plus how to train and develop them. Once you’ve developed several organizations that have at least one leader, you will have a solid base for building a long-term walk-away residual income.

 

Power Secret Twelve: The Ultimate Power Secret

 

This is actually the most important of the power secrets. You can effectively use the other eleven and without the ultimate power secret you will still only enjoy marginal results. This is the difference between a double A battery and 220volts of electricity. In fact, the ultimate secret is the real power behind every success. Think about your computer. You could have the latest, greatest, and most powerful computer made by man, but if you don’t plug it into the wall and power it up, the computer is useless. Once you plug into the ultimate power source, amazing things will begin to happen – leaders will be attracted to you and your business, your marketing campaigns produce better results, and you suddenly know exactly what to say to a prospect. This is the culmination of all the power secrets for network marketing success.

If you've done your research, you've probably found that many so-called "home based business opportunities" are in the network marketing industry and essentially involve some form of direct selling. There are, however, many businesses that revolve around multi-level marketing models, and those are quite different primarily due to the compensation structure (how you get paid). By finding a business that enables you to leverage the benefits of both network marketing AND direct sales, you will find that your ability to build substantial income streams from your home office in a relatively short period of time is much better.

So how is it that someone can leave the traditional business world, have the luxury of working from home, and earn a six or seven figure income, and not have to worry about the hustle and bustle of traffic, office politics and managing employees?

A Brief History On Network Marketing

For thousands of years, successful business people goods and services at the lowest price possible and sold them at the highest price for maximum profit. In the old days, haggling over price was expected in the negotiation process and the transaction culminated in a handshake deal which left both parties, give or take, mutually satisfied. This simple process of transferring goods and services was most lucrative for the small minority of entrepreneurs who knew the secret to success: network marketing!

Although the concept has been around from the very beginning of trade, the network marketing industry as a recognized industry has only been around for a few decades, and the explosive growth this industry has been experiencing has been phenomenal for both the companies and the entrepreneurs (distributors). So what is network marketing?

Network Marketing Defined

Very simply, network marketing leverages the concept of developing a network of like-minded individuals who, together, market various goods and services to others. The power of a network is actually scientifically proven to have a compounding effect on various factors of success. This is primarily due to the two primary components of any network: the node and the link.

For example, in a telecommunications network, the basic "network" is comprised of nodes and links that work together to transfer communication around the globe. The larger nodes tend to have more traffic, which is primarily due to the fact that they have more links connecting them to other nodes.

Another example: The human mind is an interrelationship of knowledge structures, which is essentially a network of nodes and links. When you think about money, perhaps the first thing that comes to mind is an image of a $100 bill and maybe the second thought is what that $100 can buy you, let's say a dinner for two. "Money" is one node, the image of that $100 bill is another node, the dinner for two is yet another node, and they are all interconnected by links (associations). If you know more about money than you do about dinners, then your "money" node is probably larger than your "dinner" node and therefore you're most likely going to have more associations with money than with dinner!

To bring this concept back to network marketing, if you create links with other like-minded people (ideally, other serious entrepreneurs who want to build successful million-dollar enterprises), then your income will grow in proportion to the number of links you have. Furthermore, your income will also be significantly impacted by the number and size of nodes that you're linked to (that is, the caliber of entrepreneurs you're working with). It is this very fundamental worldly and scientific concept that this industry is build on.

So how does direct sales fit into the picture?

Direct Sales Defined

The direct sales industry is a bit more direct (no pun intended). Quite simply, direct sales is the process of selling goods and services directly to the end consumer. Your favorite brand of soda is probably not distributed via direct sales because it is first sold by the manufacturer to the wholesaler, from the wholesaler to the retailer, and then from the retailer to the consumer. But if you were to come up with your own brand of soda and then use distributors to sell your product directly to consumers, then you'd be leveraging direct sales. You'll notice that many companies use this model all over the world.

If you are a boxer, and your left hand is network marketing and your right hand is direct sales, which hand do you think your trainer would instruct you to use more often in the boxing ring? Whichever is your stronger hand? No, both! Why? Because it's the most efficient and productive combination for success.

You see, there are a few companies in North America that have built their organizations from the ground up on top-tier products and have embraced a distribution model that takes the best of network marketing and direct sales and blended the benefits of both into a win-win business opportunity for professional business owners.

Top-Tier Business Opportunities Blend

(1) Excellent products that have strong demand in their respective marketplaces

(2) A powerful compensation plan that rewards entrepreneurs very well for their efforts

(3) A duplicable system that helps the entrepreneur eliminate 90-95% of the variables that cause most startup businesses to fail

(4) Training and support via a community of other successful entrepreneurs who are willing to share their secrets to success in the business. I've underlined that last part for a very good reason: this is the critical variable that is hardest to find. But if you do find it, hold on because you are going to enjoy the ride!

To wrap up, network marketing is the basis for explosive growth in your business. Direct sales is the mechanism by which you will earn the most income, primarily due to the fact that there is no middle tier in the distribution chain to suck out a large chunk of the profit margins. Find a company that can provide you with the benefits of both models and you will find the most efficient vehicle for building up to a millionaire status within 2-5 years.

Final Thought

Do your due diligence before selecting a home business. You want to find a reputable company that has top-tier products that are standalone (can be placed for sale on a brick-and-mortar store shelf), has an excellent compensation plan, offers a supportive community to help you build your business, and has industry leaders building their businesses with this organization (this shows you that the best of the best are there, which means you probably are selecting a very good organization to work with).
